Do gay rights conflict with Conservative Christian values?

Doug Wilson recently debated R. Clarke Cooper, Executive Director of Log Cabin Republicans. The event was sponsored by Collegiate Reformed Fellowship at the University of Idaho, and it addressed this question: “Do Gay Rights Conflict with Conservative Christian Values?” Wilson argues that they do, and Cooper argues that they don’t. At two and a half hours, this is a lengthy discussion. Watch it above, listen to it below, or download the audio here.

    I think it depends.

If a company has a policy that they will not hire a particular person for a job position JUST because of his or her sexual orientation, even if they have no criminal record and are fully qualified for the job, then that is an ungodly form of discrimination. In fact, a professing Christian employer who practices this kind of discrimination should heed the warning of James 2 and the consequences (eternal) that attach to this kind of attitude.

On the other hand, if it’s about same-sex marriage and child adoption, then yes it does certainly does conflict with conservative Christian values. Romans 1:26-27 makes it clear how God views homosexual behavior and activity.

“Mom & Mom, Or Dad & Dad” definitely is a conflict with conservative values. Two men living together and pretending they are married, when in God’s eyes they are not, is foolish and imbecilic at best.

I have not watch the whole vid, but had to comment when Clarke Cooper made this statement. It really is absurd, isn’t it. The man is blind and needs to have our Lord open his eyes.

Doug is superlative. What a fine brother of Christ he is. He is very gifted in discussing and arguing the truth with a bold meekness.
