GOP Candidates Seek Endorsement from Tim Tebow

This is no joke. Tim Tebow told the Associated Press that he has been approached by more than one GOP candidate for an endorsement. Here is the relevant portion from the report: Sensing the excitement and loving his message, Tebow is also being courted by Republican presidential candidates. The quarterback recently told The Associated Press he’s been asked by more than one of the contenders for his support. He wouldn’t name names, but did say he’d declined the offer. “I think you have to have so much trust in who you support, just from product endorsements to endorsing a candidate because if that person or company does something (bad), it…

Congratulations to Bama on a Great Win!

As an LSU fan, obviously I am very disappointed about the outcome of tonight’s game. But you have to give credit to Alabama for a dominating performance in the BCS title game. The bottom line of tonight’s game: Bama’s defense was suffocating, and LSU never got anything going offensively. LSU only crossed midfield one time. The swagger that LSU has had all season was missing tonight. Woulda coulda shoulda: Jordan Jefferson was in a funk. He couldn’t get the option going nor did he present a threat of passing the ball downfield. It was clear by the middle of the 3rd quarter that Jefferson was in a rut that he…

Time To Get Your Game Face On!

LSU faces Alabama in New Orleans tonight for all the marbles, and it is time to put your game face on. My favorite hype video from this season is above. It was produced about mid-season, so some of the best highlights aren’t in it. But it is still the best one, and you need to put on your headphones or some good speakers to watch this video. There are a couple more videos below: (1) one of Coach Miles’ pre-game speeches and (2) LSU’s official hype video for the National Championship game.

    Should Tim Tebow Host SNL?

MSNBC.com reports that “Saturday Night Live” would like to book Tim Tebow to host the show after the end of the NFL season. Other quarterbacks like Peyton Manning and Tom Brady have hosted, and it would be a huge ratings boost for the show. But it’s hard to disagree with Gael Fashingbauer Cooper that it would be a bad idea for him to host if he ever gets the invitation. Here’s why: There’s no question the sketches “SNL’s” writers would create for Tebow would play off the many known issues surrounding him — the circumcisions, his virginity, the on-field prayer stance dubbed “Tebowing.” But once they handed those scripts to…

Tebow after the Big Loss to the Patriots

How does Tim Tebow respond after a big loss on a big stage? Does hope spring temporary when the victories cease? No, it doesn’t. Immediately after leaving the locker room after the game, here is how Tebow’s conversation went with a reporter from NFL.com when all the cameras were off: “How is the strength of your faith impacted after a loss?” I started. “It puts things in perspective,” Tebow said. “God is still God. I still have a relationship with Christ, and a loss doesn’t change anything. Win or lose, everything is still the same. What matters is the girl I’m about to see, Kelly Faughnan. If I can inspire…

    Tebow Time Is Old School

Tim Tebow should have won the Heisman this year. He is the best college football player in the NFL, and I mean that as a compliment. He just plays old school smashmouth football. His passing stats don’t match that of the prototypical NFL quarterback, but somehow he puts drives together when it counts. It’s really quite inexplicable except that the guy has a voracious will to win that spreads to every player on his team.

Justin Taylor Takes on Bob Costas

Well, I’m sure Justin wouldn’t say the way I did in my title, but this is still a really good take-down of Bob Costas’ logic concerning Tim Tebow. Costas argues that God doesn’t have a hand in who wins or loses football games. Justin says, au contraire, mon frère. Also, Owen Strachan’s excellent post on this subject is the basis for Taylor’s remarks. Go read Owen’s as well.

    Another One Drinks the Kool-Aid

For those of you just tuning-in, today is “Tim Tebow day” here at DennyBurk.com. We’ve come across yet another conversion story that we thought you would like to see. ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith has been a relentless critic of Tim Tebow and has resisted all the evidence to the contrary until now. After Tim Tebow went to 7-1 yesterday, Smith has finally changed his tune. Smith compared his former unbelief to Pharoah, and he says that he has now been humbled. I guess that means that yesterday’s game was like the tenth plague. This is a remarkable conversation. Watch above.

    Why Does Tebow Succeed?

Tim Tebow’s extraordinary season with the Broncos is the most remarkable storyline in sports this year. I have never seen anything like it. He has captured the attention of the nation, and everyone seems to have an opinion about how to explain the improbable run that he is having right now. The most fascinating thing to me is to see self-avowed secularists trying to sort this out. Yet another such writer with very little appreciation for the faith of Tim Tebow weighs-in on the phenome in the New York Times. Frank Bruni writes:
