Ron Paul showed the limits of his pro-life principles in a recent appearance on the Piers Morgan progam on CNN (see video below). Doug Wilson rightly takes Paul to task: [Ron Paul] was asked about abortion in the case of rape. The answer to this, incidentally, is straightforward — when a woman conceives as the result of a rape, there is one guilty party, and two innocent parties. What the pro-aborts want to do is change the ratios — they want one victim instead of two, and they want two perpetrators instead of one. They want the man who took what didn’t belong to him to be joined by a…

The Media’s Biased Coverage of Abortion
Bernie Goldberg has described media bias not as a conscious agenda on the part of news reporters, but as an unconscious worldview that inevitably comes to the surface in the way that the news gets reported. Many “straight” news reporters try to be objective, but their worldview nevertheless undermines those efforts in subtle but profound ways. Thus we have “liberal” media bias. What makes the bias so galling, however, is the inability of those reporters to be self-conscious of their own presuppositions in their reporting. The last two weeks of coverage about the two biggest abortion stories of the year has been particularly galling.

American Liberalism Is Defined as Defense of Abortion
American liberals have abortion as their sacrament and Planned Parenthood as their temple. It is the holy ground upon which liberals will tolerate no one to tread. They seek not only to defend abortion rights but to promote abortion. If you doubt that this is true, just look at the two big stories about abortion that have been in the news that last two weeks: (1) President Obama’s decision to force religious groups to pay for abortions, and (2) Planned Parenthood’s bullying of the Komen foundation.

Did Komen really reverse itself?
Mary Katharine Ham was right. Planned Parenthood is turning out to be “the Hotel California of charitable donations.” The Komen foundation has discovered that they can check in any time they like, but they will never be able to leave Planned Parenthood… so it seems. In my piece that I wrote Friday for my website and the Baptist Press, I questioned whether or not Komen has really reversed its decision to defund Planned Parenthood. After reading headlines all day reporting definitively that Komen had caved, I wondered if I was the only one seeing that Komen had left the door open to deny future funds to Planned Parenthood. After doing…

Komen’s Ties to Planned Parenthood Clearer Than Ever
Nancy Brinker and the Board of Directors of Susan G. Komen for the Cure released a statement Friday that apparently reverses their decision to defund Planned Parenthood. The statement still has some ambiguity in it, and the full implications of this decision are not yet clear. Nevertheless, three things deserve comment:

Eric Metaxas in Rare Form at National Prayer Breakfast
Eric Metaxas had President Obama and distinguished guests in stitches as he shared his Christian testimony at the National Prayer Breakfast. He also shared some reflections about—you guessed it—Dietrich Bonhoeffer. He had some serious and prophetic words about the humanity of the unborn. He even spoke about having a biblical view of sexuality. All of this with the President sitting just a few feet away. This was a courageous talk delivered with winsomeness and joy. Watch it below. If you are not familiar with Eric Metaxas, you should know that he is the author of last year’s best-selling biography of Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

Abortion Is Their Sacrament, and Planned Parenthood Is Their Temple
I want everyone to be clear about what is happening right now to our nation’s leading breast cancer charity— Susan G. Komen for the Cure. They are being mugged by pro-abortion zealots who will not tolerate any criticism whatsoever of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s leading provider of elective abortions. Komen has given some grants to Planned Parenthood in the past but has now decided it can better spend its money by funding groups that actually provide mammograms. Planned Parenthood has some educational services related to breast cancer, and they give referrals for mammograms. But they don’t do mammograms themselves (see video below). Komen CEO Nancy Brinker said it this way,…

Will It Be Romney vs. Santorum for All the Marbles?
Bill Kristol speculates that Gingrich may not be the Romney alternative after all: Could we be heading towards a Romney-Santorum contest on February 28 in Michigan and Arizona, and then in March and beyond? Romney would certainly be a strong favorite in such a contest, given his lead in votes, delegates, money and organization. But wouldn’t Santorum ultimately have a better chance than Gingrich to upset Romney, even if it’s still a slim one? This caught my eye because it really does appear that Speaker Gingrich jumped the shark in Florida. Also, I think Santorum is the strongest pro-life, pro-family candidate remaining in the race. Do I think Santorum could…

Is “Game Change” Movie One-sided?
I’m no shill for Governor Sarah Palin, but the new trailer for the movie Game Change has me scratching my head. This is the third of three teasers, and all three trailers make it look like the entire story is about Palin and her incompetence. I read Game Change when it came out (I couldn’t put it down). The book has three parts. Part one focuses on the Democratic primary, part two on the GOP primary, and part three on the general election. Palin doesn’t enter the story until the middle of part three. The book does not cast a good light on Palin, but neither does it do so…

Update from Rick Santorum about His Daughter Bella
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports: Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum, who scaled back campaign appearances to be with his 3-year-old daughter, Bella, at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, said Sunday night the little girl was getting better and should be able to go home in a few days. Speaking to Florida supporters by phone from Bella’s hospital room, Santorum said she’d had a rough 36 hours with pneumonia, but was awake, alert and back to being a “beautiful, happy girl.” Read the rest here.
