Fiorina throws down gauntlet to Clinton and Obama

There is no question that Carly Fiorina was the winner of the GOP debate tonight. By far, the best moment of the entire debate was when she threw the gauntlet down to Secretary Clinton and President Obama (watch above). She dared them to watch the videos showing Planned Parenthood’s practice of selling body parts of aborted babies. It was strong and on point. It was probably the best moment I’ve seen in a debate since Ronald Reagan gave Mondale the line about “youth and inexperience.” It was that good.

    ESPN’s “30 for 30” on President Bush’s “First Pitch”

Here’s the description from ESPN: On the night of Oct. 30, 2001, President George W. Bush stepped onto the mound at Yankee Stadium to throw out the first pitch at Game 3 of the World Series, just six weeks after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. With New York City and the entire country still trying to heal, the ceremonial first pitch that night meant more than “play ball.” ESPN Films’ new 30 for 30 Short “First Pitch” looks at how important that famous pitch was to the nation, and how baseball became a part of the recovery after 9/11. The 23-minute film, directed by two-time Academy Award-winning director Angus Wall…

    I am a Christian, but I don’t follow Christ

By now many of you have no doubt seen the viral video “I’m a Christian, but…” (click the image above to view it). Not only has the video been making the rounds, but the hashtag #IAmAChristianBut is ubiquitous on social media right now. After you watch the video, it’s obvious that this is a propaganda piece for a version of Christianity that is Christian in name only–a progressivist vision of the faith that has more to do with maintaining street-cred with Christianity’s cultured despisers than with the faith once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 3). It is what the apostle Paul called a “form of godliness” while “denying…

Day 5 of the Unnecessary Incarceration of Kim Davis

Ryan Anderson brings some reason and common sense to the discussion about Kim Davis. In today’s New York Times, he writes “We Don’t Need Kim Davis To Be in Jail”: KIM DAVIS, the clerk in Rowan County, Ky., went to jail last week, and there was no good reason for her to be there. Americans can expect more conflicts over religious conscience and same-sex marriage if we don’t find a way to coexist peacefully. Ms. Davis has become a symbol of what happens when we don’t. Some on the left say that you must do every aspect of your job, despite your beliefs, or resign. But this has never been…

Judge jails Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis for her refusal to issue marriage licenses

From NBC News: A federal judge has ordered a Kentucky clerk to jail after she refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Kim Davis, the Kentucky clerk who has turned away same-sex couples seeking marriage licenses, was found in contempt of court and taken into custody on Thursday. Davis, 49, was in federal district court to appear before a judge after refusing to issue licenses to gay and lesbian couples in Rowan County. Davis, an Apostolic Christian, has said doing so would “violate God’s definition of marriage” and infringe on her personal religious beliefs. District Court Judge David Bunning said that she is bound by an oath of office…
