    Free MP3: ‘The Don’t Song’

I’m a big fan of “Johnny and Chachi.” They have put together an impressive body of work, much of which I have featured on this blog. Johnny and Chachi have recently decided to make their hit single “The Don’t Song” available for free download. Now, not only can you watch the video on YouTube, but you can also listen to this classic hit on your iPod as well. Enjoy! “The Don’t Song” by Johnny and Chachi [audio:http://www.johnnyandchachi.com/wp-content/files/The%20Don%27t%20Song.mp3]

    Headlines

From time to time, I run across headlines that communicate things that the authors did not intend. Here are a couple of recent ones that I thought you might enjoy. “Pope’s address disappoints Muslim leaders.” Didn’t they already know that the Pope gets his mail at the Vatican? I thought everybody knew that! “SBC missions giving up; baptisms down.” The news is really bad out of Nashville. Not only are baptisms down in the SBC, but apparently we’re also giving up on missions! [I guess BP figured out the problem with this one because it’s been corrected.]

The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Arizona Cardinals in the final seconds of Super Bowl 43—a contest that will surely go down as a game for the ages. Even though it was a great game, I have a complaint to make. Tonight’s game brought this NFL season to a far too definitive conclusion. It’s the same problem every year. The NFL ends the season by requiring the teams with the best records to play one another in a single elimination playoff. Only the winners advance, and the final game always features the champions of the two…

All Things Are Better In Koine

To all my Greek students past, present, and future. I thought you would really enjoy this one. Some guys at BIOLA have produced a video about Bible students who have to go through grueling semesters of learning Koine Greek (Koine means “common” and it refers to the popular form of Greek spoken at the time of the New Testament). Here are my favorite lines: 1.     “λέγομαι ἐγώ,” which sounds like “leggo my eggo”2.    “Bill Mounce gonna make you bounce . . . Daniel Wallace” I am looking forward to teaching my Greek 4 class this semester, but I promise there will be no rapping . . . well, maybe a little.…
