No Bible the 2nd time around? Wonder what that’s all about?
Paul
Obama HAD already sworn on a Bible.
In a situation where there was a want to get it done fast in the name of “just in case”, there probably wasn’t much time to go hunt for Lincoln’s or Washington’s or Pierce’s (!!!) Bible to be sworn in on.
Some people will find any reason to nitpick, I think…

If this would have been Dan Quayle, or George Bush, we would have never heard the end of it on Letterman, or Jay Leno, or SNL. The news media would have played it over and over again, with snickers and insinuations about how dumb these men were. But, no so with a fellow, liberal democrat.
The news media and hollywood is so biased it’s not even funny.

David,
It was JOHN ROBERTS — THE MOST CONSERVATIVE MEMBER OF THE SUPREME COURT — that made the flub in the first place.
If you’re going to complain, get all of the facts together first. And then realize that there’s nothing to complain about.

Paul’s right, except I’m not sure that Roberts is the most conservative member. Scalia probably owns that title.

Paul,
I was not talkiing about John Roberts. I was talking about Obama. If Bush, or Quayle had done this, then we’d never have heard the end of it…insinuating how stupid they were. BTW, Obama flubbed up before Roberts did, and in fact, may have messed up Roberts in the oath flub thing. Obama jumped in before it was time.
Also, I watched Fox news and saw where Biden cut Roberts down when they were swearing in the cabinet members, but NBC chose to not show this. I mean, Biden really hit him below the belt. But, did ABC show it? Did CBS show it? I didnt see NBC say anything. Once again, if that would’ve been a conservative Republican, the talk would’ve been about how mean and viscious they were. But, the liberal democrat… nothing…except at Fox.
So, Paul, get your facts straight before correcting someone. I wasnt talking about the Judge. I was talking about Obama’s stumbiing around the oath. If that would’ve been Bush or Quayle, you know that Leno and Letterman and the news media would have been all over it…putting down the conservative.

Mr. Obama raised his right hand and did not use a Bible.
Anyone else catch that?
Darius T
Oh no, he flubbed it on purpose so he could go back and do it without a Bible… conspiracy, I say!!! What next, “coughing” during “under God” in the Pledge?
🙂
Paul
David,
of course you weren’t talking about the conservative judge, were you?
you complain about biases, but your biases are clearly showing with every word you type.
Pot, meet kettle.
John
Darius,
Touche!! I’m glad you catch the absurdities in those statements. Denny responds by deleting my posts when I try to communicate the same thing.
Paul
Actually, the “cough” was so he could say “under Allah” while crossing his fingers.
WE’RE ALL DOOMED!!!!

I used to ignorantly think that William Shatner was the great vindicator of the split infinitive but there it is in the oath.
Jason
Actually, I think everyone is missing the biggest part of this. Does being sworn in twice mean this is Obama’s second term and his first term was only 1 day? Maybe this ensures Obama only has the presidency for 4 years instead of 8? Conspiracy? HA!

All I can say is “Don’t Roberts Me, Chief!”
