Kansas vs. Memphis: Did you pick it?

The big game is tonight, and I have to say that I think this may be the best I’ve ever done in filling out an NCAA Tournament bracket. I picked 9 of the “Sweet Sixteen,” 6 of the “Elite Eight,” 4 of the “Final Four,” and both of the teams in the championship game. Going into tonight’s game, I have 130 points for the picks I’ve made. If Kansas wins, I will finish with 162 points (scoring details).

If you have bracket stats to share (especially if you have bested my picks), then post up your bracket score in the comments section. I want to see it. If you are doing as well or better than me, I’ll post a link to your bracket in this post.

Scoreboard for Tonight’s Game

[UPDATE!] I’ve gotten one taker, Shea Sumlin, and he has 4 more points than me. But if Kansas wins tonight, I’ll take home bragging rights!

134 pts – Shea Sumlin

130 pts – Denny Burk

[UPDATE 2!] What a game, and what a hearbreaker for Shea!

162 pts – Denny Burk

134 pts – Shea Sumlin

I had Baylor and Kansas in the final with Baylor winning. I quit keeping track of my bracket three weeks ago.

C’mon, admit you just got lucky with those picks!

No, I’m just bitter because my bracket was set up for NC and UCLA in the finals with UCLA on top.

Oh well. There’s always next year!

Micah, what kind of a Calvinist are you?

Well, no one can accuse you of being a fair-weathered fan!

Surely, Denny, you won’t make any money if you win…. 😉

Good point. I did, however, fail to include a line saying something like, “May God’s providence bring fruition to all your picks.”

Does that help recover some of my theological integrity?

Hey Denny, you don’t know me- but I’m a friend of Brad Bell’s (DTS). I think I got you beat on this one… Got 10 out of the sweet 16, 7 out of the elite 8- and haven’t missed any since… We’ll see if Memphis can hold on tonight.

Though I did have 10 of Sweet 16, but only 6 of elith 8.

Yes….we here in Memphis had no doubt who would be in the final.

I have a question that is totally unrelated to this post. What WordPress Theme is your blog? I have seen it on numerous blogs, but cannot find it anywhere.

Yeah, I picked the final four too…and picked UNC/UCLA in the finals. Sigh. But, this is the first time the final four was all one seeds, I think. At least in a long time…

Three words… “Un-Be-Lievable.” Kudos my friend. Great pick. I was 10 seconds away! Incredible game.

For the want of a free throw…

Sorry to brag about my alma mater, but the Jayhawks are National Champions! Woo woo.
