Huckabee Clinches Nomination with Chuck NorrisÒ€ℒ Endorsement

In case you didn’t know, Chuck Norris has a huge cult following among the American electorate. And he has recently thrown his weighty political endorsement to presidential candidate Mike Huckabee. This is big news, because we all know that the world must defer to the superior martial arts skills of Chuck Norris. Here are some facts to support the point:

    Wedgie-Proof Underwear

This post is just for fun, but it is true. Two eight-year old twins have invented Wedgie-Proof Underwear, and they have been peddling their wares at the 2007 Invention Convention in Ohio. Their brief fame earned them a spot on the Ellen Degeneres Show, but what follows is their interview on Fox News.

    Emergent Humor

Well, this post will be a bit of inside baseball for those who keep up with currents in evangelicalism. The Christianity Today blog linked to these motivational posters that are parodies of the Emergent wing of the emerging church. They are pretty hilarious. One of the posters is pictured at right, but if you’d like to see the rest of them, click here. For those of you who are emerging and are offended by this post, let me even things out by offering you this parody of Calvinism: “25 warning signs that you might be obsessing about Calvinism.” Who said I can’t be an equal opportunity offender? πŸ™‚

    The WorldÒ€ℒs Ugliest Dog

It’s a rare thing to see something so ugly that you take time to write a blog post about it. But this dog is so ugly that he looks like he fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. The Associated Press reports that the dog’s name is Elwood, and he has just received $1,000 for winning the title of ugliest dog. I think he won that one going away.

    From Dallas to Paris

I use Google Maps all the time. Not only do I use it when I want to look at satellite photos of the roof of my house, I also use it when I need directions. If I don’t know where I’m going, Google does. I can just type in the destination address, and presto. A map appears with detailed directions from my front door to wherever it is that I am going.

    I hate Macs

A clever article in a British paper scores one for PC users everywhere. In “I hate Macs,” the author lampoons Mac computers and their pretentious new ad campaign: PCs are the ramshackle computers of the people. You can build your own from scratch, then customise it into oblivion. . . PCs have charm; Macs ooze pretension. When I sit down to use a Mac, the first thing I think is, “I hate Macs”, and then I think, “Why has this rubbish aspirational ornament only got one mouse button?” Losing that second mouse button feels like losing a limb. If the ads were really honest, Webb would be standing there with…

    Saturday Snickers

I am constantly coming across humorous items on the internet, some of which I post here from time to time. There have been times, however, when I have refrained from posting something humorous because I thought that it would be inappropriate in the midst of some of the more serious topics that I address in any given week. I have decided, therefore, to start a weekly series called “Saturday Snickers.” (What can I say? I like alliteration.) My aim is to save up all the funny internet stuff and to post all the week’s humorous items on Saturdays. I hope to have something comical posted each week. Anywho, we’ll see…
