This one is making the rounds, and I think it’s too good not to share. I know that styles and tastes change, but oh my.

    I can’t wait for Paul’s critique.

Denny, What’s up Bro? That sounds like Devo meets a Christian Partridge family. Not very good. Hey, drop me an email on how things are going. Russell Moore is speaking at our church tonight – ought to be good. Later.

I just lost my faith…I don’t want Jesus to be my friend anymore….

    Mark,

no critique. It doesn’t need one. Everyone agrees, it’s dreadful. It’s just more proof that the entire CCM movement needs an atomic bomb and a dustbroom.

I’m a little more disturbed by the “Sonseed” reference. 😉 Maybe that’s just me.

I was in the bathroom at my church today and literally burst out laughing in the stalls just thinking about it.

“He loves me when I waste my time by writing silly songs…”

    WWJPS?

“He teaches me to turn my cheek when people laugh at me.”

Bro, I am laughing at you, right now.

THIS is “rock and roll”? Holy cow. Rock has come a long way.

    OK, one more:

“He is like a mounty; he always gets his man; he will zap you any way he can.”

So this guy’s a sexist Calvinist?

Well, this is proof that Denny is trying to stir up another gender AND Calvinism debate, all at the same time.

    Angie,

Thanks for the comment! Yes, I’ve seen the video. I posted it last weekend, but a mutual friend talked me in to removing it.

    Thanks,
    Denny

So, what are these videos of? Are their well known people in them or something? Why have they been floating around everywhere? I just don’t understand this fascination…

I still have this ridiculous song stuck in my head after 2 days… I was studying last night and I found myself singing “Jesus is my friend” over and over… AH!!!

  20. D.J. Williams September 18, 2008 at 11:53 am #

Okay, so now I’m curious – why did you remove the dancing video? I’ve got it on my blog as well.

  21. Sandy September 18, 2008 at 8:59 pm #

This video would be extremely annoying with the monotonous beat and shallow lyrics except that because it is from my “era,” I should feel a little nostalgia. And, then you hate to bash anyone too badly who might actually be sincerely praising God. This video is a perfect reminder of the blessing of growing old and being OUT of the sixties!
