It looks like Texas A&M University is close to an agreement to bolt the Big 12 to enter the SEC. I don’t blame A&M for wanting to make the change. They need to blaze their own trail and to get out of the shadow of the Texas Longhorns. I think the Aggies have a great program, and the SEC will only elevate their prospects. The weekly competition will be more difficult than anything they’ve ever faced, but it will be a boon for the program.
This news about A&M reminds me of the last time the Aggies travelled to Baton Rouge to play LSU. Their buses had almost reached the stadium when they passed a sign that read “LSU Left.” Disappointed, the Aggies turned the buses around and drove back to College Station.
Next time, we’ll be sure to put out signs with pictures on them!
Whoop! Geaux, Tigers!

Exciting news for the Aggies and the SEC. Who becomes #14?

Very exciting. I would love to see a school in Texas join the best conference in America. Most kids see the benefit of playing in the SEC. You get an SEC school in the midst of Texas recruiting for a few years and that more than likely adds another national contender to the conference. It would seem they would have to be in the SEC West though. My one concern is that my Ole Miss Rebels are the only unranked team in that division presently. To add a quality Texas school to that division would solidify that schedule as murderers row. Oh, but how I would love to see it happen! Thank God it’s football season!

“Ole Miss Rebels are the only unranked team”
Vanderbilt is Ranked, and SC?

GIG ‘EM AGGIES!!! Great move! Growing pains? Assured. But great move for the university and the state of Texas. S-E-C!!!
#14 going to SEC EAST??? Florida State seems the logical choice. But don’t count out Clemson or Virginia Tech.
Thanks for posting your thoughts Denny!

Don,
South Carolina is preseason #12…..but, I said in the division, as in the West. (LSU, Bama, Auburn, MS State, Arkansas and Ole Miss). Vandy and SC are in the East. Like I said: It’s gonna be a long year for my Rebels.
