According to PRNewswire, Ted Koppel will host a panel discussion immediately following the Discovery Channel’s airing of “The Jesus Tomb.” Look for it at 10pm CT on Sunday evening on the Discovery Channel. Panelists include:
Darrell Bock, Professor of New Testament Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary, past president of ETS
James Tabor, Department of Religious Studies, University of North Carolina
David O’Connell, C.M., President, The Catholic University of America
William Dever, professor emeritus of Near Eastern archaeology and anthropology at the University of Arizona
Simcha Jacobovici, Investigative Journalist and Filmmaker
Koppel, who has no connection to the production of THE LOST TOMB OF JESUS, will bring his independent journalistic perspective to the evidence introduced in the documentary. The hour-long discussion will have minimal commercial interruptions and will present the many voices, opinions and beliefs related to the film’s content. The panel will explore the filmmakers’ profound assertions and challenge their assumptions and suggested conclusions.

Denny,
I love it that Darrell Bock will be on the panel. That is bringing in a heavy hitter. I took his exegesis of Luke for my last semester there and loved the class.
Makes me wish I had cable…

BTW, I commented about this on my post today. Thanks for the heads up.

I hope Dr. Bock will bring up the issues surrounding the name Mariamne and the “Acts of Phillip”.
