From the Associated Press:
The Rev. Jerry Falwell was in “gravely serious” condition after being found unconscious in his office, a Liberty University executive said Tuesday.
Falwell was taken to a hospital, the executive told a newspaper.
Ron Godwin, the executive vice president of the school, told The News & Advance of Lynchburg that Falwell was found unconscious after missing an appointment Tuesday morning. Falwell was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital around noon, the newspaper reported on its Web site. . .
Falwell, 73, had been hospitalized in March 2005 with congestive heart failure after being found unconscious. At that time he had to be resuscitated by EMTs at the hospital emergency room.
Falwell founded the Moral Majority in 1979 and became the face of the religious right as his political lobbying organization grew to 6.5 million members and raised millions for conservative politicians.
