If you pay for an abortion, you are owed a dead baby

George Will comments on the chilling video of a Planned Parenthood spokesman in Florida defending the right to infanticide. He writes:

Recently in Florida, Alisa LaPolt Snow, representing Florida Planned Parenthood organizations, testified against a bill that would require abortionists to provide medical care to babies who survive attempted abortions. Snow was asked: “If a baby is born on a table as a result of a botched abortion, what would Planned Parenthood want to have happen to that child that is struggling for life?” Snow replied: “We believe that any decision that’s made should be left up to the woman, her family and the physician.” She added, “That decision should be between the patient and the health care provider.” To this, a Florida legislator responded: “I think that at that point the patient would be the child struggling on a table. Wouldn’t you agree?”

Planned Parenthood, which receives more than $500 million in government subsidies, is branching out, expanding its mission beyond the provision of abortions to the defense of consumers’ rights: If you pay for an abortion, you are owed a dead baby.

We need to start having the courage to start criticizing the women who take their babies into Planned Parenthood to be murderers. We need to start calling these women what they are: baby murderers. Planned Parenthood would cease to exist if these women would stop going to them. If nothing else, at least we put something of a stigma on abortion.

      Paul,

This will sounds strange, but I hope you arent a Christian…. not with that response.

Your answer to fight abortion is essentially: lets guilt, shame, and make these women social outcasts to stop abortion.

You literally cant come up with a more anti-gospel response.

This is ecidence as to why the “gospel-centered movement” is so needed. People are clueless as to how to apply the gospel to every area of life.

I think Paul Reed’s response is at least somewhat appropriate… If the woman is a professing Christian.

OK, Paul Reed. You are duly appointed to tell every woman that has had an abortion she is a baby murderer. That will surely solve the situation of women having abortions–NOT!!

        @Tom Parker

It’s the first step to solving the problem of abortion. Call abortion what it is, and call women who get them what they are: murder and murderers. Treat a woman who kills her unborn child like one who kills her born child. The law will change on abortion when people’s attitudes change on it. When you insist that a woman who kills a born child be jailed or sent to a mental institution, and a woman who kills an unborn child should get off with an “I’m sorry, I regret my abortion”, then you’re sending a message about what you really think about unborn children. If we don’t take abortion seriously, then we can’t expect the pro-abortion side to take it seriously. And we’ll be fighting this fight another 40 years.

I think y’all are all misunderstanding grace. There’s a difference between cheap, excusatory grace and transformational grace (the latter being biblical).

Yes, we should call a spade a spade, but we are to speak the truth in love with the end goal of glorifying God.

Isn’t angry name-calling acting like the world? We are to speak and act in grace and love. A woman who has had, or is considering having, an abortion does not need a good bashing. That doesn’t glorify God in the least and it will repel her even more from Whom she needs the most. Rather than pointing fingers and calling her a murderer, we should point her to Christ. Only then will her heart/mind be changed about abortion. And we should always remember that we were once dead in our trespasses and sins and wouldn’t be any better than her if it weren’t for the One who saves sinners. Grace and peace to you.

Christians can’t legislate morals/behavior. We can teach people about/point them to Christ where all things are possible and life change/behavior change DOES happen.

That’s how it can be done. Good point Nikki. As much as it breaks my heart to read stories like this, shaming someone won’t bring them to Christ.

I don’t think it’s about shaming, per se. It’s about telling them the truth.
Unless we’re willing to rightly identify abortion as murder, on what basis do we call it wrong and call people away from it.

Already people say “Please don’t kill your baby”. And perhaps that’s we gentle way to do it, but if the problem were 2 year olds, who would hesitate to call that murder and those who do it murderers?

I wonder if the reason this issue had been down-played in many churches is because no one wants to call it murder except in exactly the right situation.

It’s murder. Call it that. And show grace and mercy to those who commit the murder. Give them the gospel from that standpoint.
