Dixie Chicks Win Big

The Dixie Chicks won big at the Grammy’s tonight. They won five awards, including “Song of the Year” and “Album of the Year.” Though I don’t agree with their politics (understatement alert!), I think their album “Taking the Long Way” is great.

My favorite performance of the night, however, was the opening act by The Police. The reunion was long overdue, but they didn’t miss a lick.

Funny I don’t know one person who likes their music. Seems they hit it big after knocking the President while out of the country. Don’t know what they won, but it’s not country music. For Sure……..

    Don,

the Dixie Chicks have chops and talent. Two things most of the country music, beer swilling NASCAR nation knows nothing about. Sorry.

The awards I’m glad about are

Carrie Underwood – Jesus, take the wheel
    Randy travis- Glory Train

    Disappointment
Chris Tomlin or Michael W. Smith not winning anything

I’m certainly not a Dixie Chicks apologist, but the song “Man” which is a duet with Natalie of the Dixie Chicks and Pete Yorn (on his album Nightcrawler) is so good that I could keep it on repeat for a six hour drive. Regardless of how you feel about their politics, the music is first-class.
