Cowboys Choke Again

This is not a good year to be a Cowboys fan. Scratch that. This is not a good decade to be a Cowboys fan. Each week, they find new ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Their road game against the Patriots earlier tonight was no exception. The Cowboys had the ball, a three point lead, and three minutes left in the game. All they needed was a first down to win. Instead, they blew the game for a one simple reason. The offense began to play not to lose instead of playing to win, and they called conservative running plays. They ran the two running plays and a failed pass on third and long. Three and out. They punted the ball and gave Hall of Famer Tom Brady plenty of time to march down the field for the go ahead touchdown in the final seconds.

Bottom line. Overall, the Cowboys had a fantastic night defensively. They overcame some costly penalties and put themselves in a position to win at the end of the game. The offense choked at the most critical point in the game.

An analysts on ESPN said it best, the difference between the Pats and Cowboys was that the Cowboys just settle for drives that end in a field goal but the Patriots when they started their drive you knew they were going to score a touchdown for the victory. Sadly we have lost for being over aggressive (vs. Lions) now we were way to passive.

Actually Denny, it was run, run, penalty, then run again. A failed pass play on 3rd down would have at least given them a chance to get a first down. Gotta let Romo at least try and win the game for you
