Rev. Kenneth Miller is a Mennonite minister from Virginia, and he is facing prison. Why? Because he helped a woman named Lisa Miller flee the country with her biological daughter. Why was that a crime? Here’s the story from the Burlington Free Press:

On the FRC Shooting and “Hate” Groups
I confess that I have been watching with some disgust the lack of coverage in the national media about the shooting this week at the Family Research Council. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then you are a walking illustration of my point. If a deranged conservative had shot a security guard at the headquarters of the Human Rights Campaign, I guarantee that the news would have been as big as the Aurora shootings last month in Colorado. But this has not been the case with the FRC shooting. Case in point: The New York Times had the story on page A11.

Interview with Rachel from Chick-fil-a
Fox News snagged an interview with the Chick-fil-a worker named Rachel who was berated by a drive-thru customer last Wednesday. In the accompanying article, Rachel explains why she responded so magnanimously: “I’m Christian and God tells us to love thy neighbor.” Watch the interview above. (HT: Danny Akin)

Call it what it is—the Westboro cult
I grow weary of editorials and commentators who make facile comparisons between orthodox Christianity and the fringe group known as “Westboro Baptist Church.” Just this week, The Baltimore Sun published an editorial comparing Chick-fil-a president Dan Cathy to the Westboro extremists. I know not everyone can be a religion reporter, but this kind of ignorance of the basic differences between mainstream evangelicals and Westboro hatred is inexcusable.

Man Apologizes to Rachel, the Chick-fil-a Worker
Earlier this week, I pointed to a video of a guy who protested Chick-fil-a on Wednesday by giving the “what for” to the girl working the drive-thru window at Chick-fil-a. He posted a video of the encounter on YouTube and lost his job as a result.

Is Chick-fil-a Day a “bold mistake”?
Today countless Americans will heed Mike Huckabee’s call to rally in support of Chick-fil-a. Over 500,000 people have signed up to take part and to show support for a company that has been under fire over the last couple of weeks for its advocacy of traditional marriage. For the most part, conservatives have answered the call. But Barnabas Piper is a notable exception and is calling the show of solidarity with Chick-fil-a a “bold mistake.” In his column for World magazine, he argues that the rally presents an “us vs. them” division between Christians and those on the other side of the debate. It unnecessarily alienates people whom we would…

Chick-fil-a Franchise Sponsors Gay Pride Event
The only Chick-fil-a franchisee in New Hampshire will be sponsoring the 2012 New Hampshire Pride Fest. The manager Anthony Picolia explains: “Chick-fil-A at Pheasant Lane Mall has gay employees and serves gay customers with honor, dignity and respect. We also don’t discriminate in giving back to the Nashua community, donating to a wide variety of causes. I would challenge people to come have a conversation with me before they make assumptions or boycott my restaurant.” Read the rest here.

Another Persistent Error in Reporting on Chick-fil-a
I suppose when you read a lot of news reports about one story, you begin to notice details. I know I have in the whole Chick-fil-a imbroglio. There is one particular error in reporting that I keep seeing over and over. I have seen it in The New York Times, The Associated Press, and countless others. The error goes something like this:
