    Planned Parenthood spokesperson supports infanticide

The video above is just too shocking for words, but make no mistake. It is the logical implication of the pro-choice position. If an unborn baby at 7-months has no right to life inside the womb, then why would he have a right to life outside? Consistent pro-choicers know this, and that’s why some of them—like the Planned Parenthood spokesperson above—has no problem supporting infanticide. Here’s the report from The Weekly Standard:

Which cable news network is the most partisan?

The Pew Research Center’s 2013 State of the News Media report has some interesting data in it. I would have assumed FOX News to be the network airing the largest percentage of commentary, but that is not at all the case. Of the three cable networks, MSNBC far outstrips the other networks in the percentage of its airtime that’s devoted to commentary. Here’s how commentary vs. reporting breaks down for each network: Network Commentary Reporting MSNBC 85% 15% FOX 55% 45% CNN 46% 54% CNN is the only one of the three that devotes the majority of its airtime to reporting the news. It’s also the network that lags far behind the…

A youth conference your students won’t want to miss

The apostle Paul writes, If the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. -1 Cor. 15:16-17 There is no more fundamental issue regarding the truthfulness and the hope of Christianity than the reality of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. That is why Southern Seminary and Boyce College are hosting a youth conference on just that topic later this month. The speakers include Albert Mohler, Russell Moore, Jimmy Scroggins, and Greg Gilbert. If you have a church youth group or know of a youth group, I encourage you to get them…

    Chávez’s Last Words and Yours

The head of Venezuela’s presidential guard was with Hugo Chávez during his final moments. His report on Chávez’s last words paints a picture of a man desperately clinging to life. According to this report, Chávez said: I don’t want to die. Please don’t let me die. As a rule, I’m no fan of socialist dictators—particularly those of Chávez’s ilk. But this strikes me as one of the saddest things I’ve ever read. I grieve to think about what the horror of his final moments must have been like. Death is no respecter of persons—not even of billionaire Presidents who command a cult-like following among their countrymen. Not even of you.…

They really do hate people like me

Rod Dreher weighs-in on the recent article by The Washington Post’s outgoing Ombudsman. Like most other traditional marriage supporters, he was scandalized by the piece (I mentioned it here). But Dreher’s article caught my eye because he is an insider and is deeply critical of his own profession. When it comes to reporting on the culture war, my profession is deeply corrupt, and profoundly self-righteous. The contempt with which so many within newsrooms hold social conservatives and traditional Christians is real. Stories like this one temper my sorrow over the demise of my profession. They really do hate people like me, and consider us not worthy of the basic fairness…

    Not featuring enough gay animals?

This is not a joke. You really can’t make this stuff up. Here’s the report from the UK’s Independent: A university academic has criticised David Attenborough’s wildlife shows for not featuring enough gay animals. Three of the veteran broadcaster’s shows are identified in a new study as perpetuating the notion that animal relationships are predominantly heterosexual. Dr Brett Mills of the University of East Anglia says wildlife documentaries should be offering viewers a wider perspective on animal behaviour. Researchers found BBC wildlife documentaries portray animals as heterosexual families too often, even though animals can also be gay. Read the rest here. Then read Jonah 4:11. (HT: Carl Trueman)

How can you not define that as a person?

What caused CNN’s Erin Burnett to declare on national television that an unborn child is a person? It was the story of Brady Surovik—an unborn baby killed in his mother’s womb by a drunk driver just two days before he was to be born. This happened in Colorado where state law prevents authorities from charging the drunk driver with the death of the baby. After reporting this story, Burnett says this: Without getting into the whole nitty-gritty of the abortion debate. I mean, to me, if the child — that baby when he died was 8 pounds 2 ounces, he was going to be born in a couple days. How…
