Interview with Russell Moore about “What Is the Meaning of Sex”

Russell Moore recently interviewed me about What Is the Meaning of Sex, and the audio is now available online. I am very grateful for this interview, and I have to say that it is unlike almost any other that I’ve done so far. Dr. Moore was careful to probe the pastoral and practical implications of this book, and he does so with his customary wit and humor. The conversation is about 15 minutes long, and it’s available on the website of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. You can also listen to it below or download it here.

    ENDA and the Christian Response

Editor’s Note: This week the Senate is poised to take up the Employment Non-Discrimination of Act of 2013 (ENDA). The law would prohibit some religious business owners from the freedom to hire individuals who share the values of their business. President Obama blogged at The Huffington Post over the weekend in favor of ENDA. This law has wide-ranging implications that directly affect religious liberty. Andrew Walker, Director of Policy Studies with the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, has graciously provided an interview to help readers think through this controversial law. Read it below. Q: What is ENDA? This week, the Senate is poised to vote on S. 815, the Employment…

She formerly served in the administration of Bill Clinton, and now she is a Democratic commentator at Fox News. In the November issue of Christianity Today, she shares how God invaded her life and converted her to faith in Christ. Here’s just a little bit of what she shared: I remember walking into the Bible study. I had a knot in my stomach. In my mind,…

Challies’ final thoughts on the “Strange Fire” conference

In case you missed it, Tim Challies posted his final reflections on John MacArthur’s “Strange Fire” conference. It’s worth reading the whole thing, but he concludes this way: Strange Fire was an event that primarily targeted the worst of the charismatic movement. As I said when I offered an early look at the book, it is more about Benny Hinn than Bob Kauflin. While the Reformed charismatics may be a valued and significant part of the New Calvinism, they represent only the smallest fringe of the wider charismatic movement. What still remains to be done is to interact with the best arguments of the best of the charismatics and to address…

Wall Street Journal profiles Russell Moore

The Wall Street Journal has run a front page feature on Russell Moore, the new president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. This morning, the story was behind a subscriber wall, but now it’s available for anyone to read. Here’s an excerpt: Since the birth of the Christian-conservative political movement in the late 1970s, no evangelical group has delivered more punch in America’s culture wars than the Southern Baptist Convention and its nearly 16 million members. The country’s largest Protestant denomination pushed to end abortion, open up prayer in public schools and boycott Walt Disney Co. over films deemed antifamily. Its ranks included many of the biggest names on…
