Voddie Baucham Explains His Absence from The Elephant Room and Beyond

Voddie Baucham explains why he declined the invitation to participate in The Elephant Room 2 and why James MacDonald cancelled Baucham’s appearance at men’s conference this past weekend. I really appreciate Voddie’s heart in this, and I think it would be well worth your time to read his take. He writes:

I was naive to think that there would be no fallout if I decided to go forward with the Men’s Conference. The Men’s Conference was scheduled to take place two days after ER2. Once my worst fears were realized at ER2 (i.e., Jakes equivocated on modalism, was not even challenged on WOF gospel, etc…), there was no way for me to 1) keep silent on this growing controversy, and 2) attend the Men’s Conference, without giving tacit approval to ER2. The decision to go public was inevitable. The only question was how.

Very impressive. I’m surprised he had the courage to discuss the race factor as frankly and honestly as he did, but it’s entirely relevant and appropriate to the discussion. It’s saddening to hear of MacDonald’s handling of the situation.

Voddie Baucham has and is generally willing to speak on the toughest of subjects. He does not back down on any concerns from a Biblical perspective. I deeply enjoy his thoughts and concerns.

His desire for the Word is solid and is a modern example I desire to follow.

Thankful for his willingness to continue to stand firm for the truth no matter where the chips may fall.
