The Battle of Ineptitude

Miles

LSU really laid and egg tonight against Arkansas. But it was an ugly game for both teams. I’m a little bit astonished at the headlines (here and here) suggesting that Arkansas has now made its case for a BCS bowl. Did these reporters watch this game? It was just one mistake after another. Mallet threw I don’t know how many interceptions. Arkansas’s punter fumbled a punt deep in their own territory. They looked terrible. Fortunately for the Hogs, they were only slightly less terrible than LSU. Neither of these teams looked BCS worthy. I guess we’ll see how things shake-out next week.

P.S. Jim Hamilton is a sorry dog (or in this case, a sorry hog).

I don’t have a dog in this hunt, but I can see why Razorback fans (and the media) are pumped about this win.

Having watched the game, it seemed like the only thing stopping the Hogs was themselves. It seemed like LSU was playing catch-up all game long.

While I believe LSU to be the far superior team, talent-wise, Arkansas made big plays and kept the advantage throughout. That TD pass right before halftime was, in effect, the game-winner.

At the same time, I think your overall assessment is quite right: Arkansas was just “less terrible” than LSU.

But stat-wise and (where it counts most of all) score-wise, Arkansas just flat out beat LSU.

For everyone who remembers- TOLD YOU SO!

I believe it was the last LSU thread that I said their #5 ranking was meaningless because Arkansas would beat them.

Denny- you are right, none of these teams are BCS worthy. Only Auburn deserves it out of the SEC.

    lol… Thats funny, Noah.

What stinks is that MSU deserves a BCS game, but they wont get one. They are more worthy than Arkansas and a Big East team, but dumb rules get in the way of good football.
