Two stories recently in the news have exposed the absolute moral bankruptcy of pro-choice thinking. Both of them illustrate the fact that pro-choice logic leads not just to the devaluing of unborn human life but to that of newborn human life as well.

A Lesson on Raising Boys To Respect Women
If you are raising little girls or little boys, you should raise them as little girls or little boys. That means that you must be concerned to teach boys to become men, and girls to become women. Gender-neutral parenting is a fool’s errand and ignores the differences that God has created between the sexes. The implication of this is that if you want a son to grow up to treat women with respect and dignity, then you must teach him the lesson as a boy. He must learn from his parents that girls are different than boys and that little girls deserve special treatment.

Measuring “Kony 2012” Viral Impact
Just a side note here about how “Kony 2012” measures up to other viral videos. As of this writing, the YouTube version has received over 76 million views. But the Visible Measures group says total views across the internet is over 112 million. How does that measure up to other viral sensations like “Charlie Bit My Finger Again” or Rebecca Black’s “Friday”? It took only six days for “Kony 2012” to become the fastest “campaign” to surpass 100 million views. In short, it’s the fastest growing viral video campaign in history. The stats are below.

Raquel Welch Says Pornography “Annihilates” Men
Raquel Welch recently sat for an interview with Men’s Health in which she commented that pornography is destroying men. I do not recommend the entire article, but I thought it remarkable and insightful that a secular former sex-symbol recognizes the dehumanizing effects of pornography: I think we’ve gotten to the point in our culture where we’re all sex addicts, literally. We have equated happiness in life with as many orgasms as you can possibly pack in, regardless of where it is that you deposit your love interest…

A Speck on the Universe
Justin Taylor’s post about the size of the universe reminded me of this video that we have been showing to our kids recently. We are indeed specks on the universe.

Piers Morgan Goes at Guests on the Gay Marriage Issue
If you are to appear on the Piers Morgan program, there is no need to be surprised or unprepared for the gay marriage questions. If he views you as a Christian, the questions will come whether you want them to or not. Whether or not it has anything to do with the reason you’re on the program, he’s going to ask, and he’s going to do it in such a way that casts you personally in a negative light. Clearly this is an important issue to him, and he wants to discredit anyone who believes what the Bible says about human sexuality. He’s done it over and over again (see…

A Bittersweet Tribute to Peyton Manning
I think the people of Indianapolis are feeling something of what the people of Dallas experienced when Jerry Jones fired Tom Landry in 1989. Colts fans have watched the Colts organization pull the rug out from under their tried and true champion. As with Landry and in spite of the best arguments in favor of the move, it just seems wrong. Really wrong. Maybe it will be a move that will lead to more championships, but still. It just seems wrong.

Intolerant Gay Activists Target Chick-fil-a
Tolerance for Christian teaching continues to wear really thin in some areas of our country. World magazine reports that activists have now set their sights on Chick-fil-a. Why? Because Chick-fil-a’s charitable foundation gives to groups like Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which these activists deem to be anti-gay. Here’s the report from World: Last week, the student senate at Northeastern University, in Boston, voted to end negotiations to bring fast-food chain Chick-fil-A to campus after students protested over the company’s affiliation with several Christian organizations the students say have an “anti-gay” agenda.
