Catholic Online reports that Dr. Katherine Ragsdale has recently been appointed as the sixth and newest president of Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, MA. She has a sermon that is published online that reveals that she is not only pro-choice, but pro-abortion. Here she is in her own words:
“When a woman wants a child but can’t afford one because she hasn’t the education necessary for a sustainable job, or access to health care, or day care, or adequate food, it is the abysmal priorities of our nation, the lack of social supports, the absence of justice that are the tragedies; the abortion is a blessing.
“And when a woman becomes pregnant within a loving, supportive, respectful relationship; has every option open to her; decides she does not wish to bear a child; and has access to a safe, affordable abortion – there is not a tragedy in sight — only blessing. The ability to enjoy God’s good gift of sexuality without compromising one’s education, life’s work, or ability to put to use God’s gifts and call is simply blessing.
“These are the two things I want you, please, to remember – abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Let me hear you say it: abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Abortion is a blessing and our work is not done.”
If you don’t believe that there is a culture of death in our country, you do not have your eyes open. Right now, it’s the unborn babies whose lives are on the line. In the future, what other classes of humans will we decide are too expensive to let live? If you think that you’ll always be in a class that is protected in law from such atrocities, think again. There is no basis for such an assumption, and the culture of death is eating away at the moral underpinnings that protect humans from being treated as if they were disposable under certain economic conditions.
The double tragedy of this story is that the culture of death has an ostensibly Christian spokesperson in the new president of the Episcopal Divinity School. The key word here is “ostensibly.” Dr. Ragsdale is a false teacher, and her teaching is “Christian” in name only. There’s nothing here that even approximates an authentically Christian faith.

As one who supported Obama and chimes in from time to time against the tide of anti-abortion legislation, I find those statements absolutely appalling and horrific.
That kind of rhetoric is entirely (non) Christian, without even a hint of recognizing the sanctity of the unborn life. In many of the pro-abortion advocates you at least sense a hint of the tragedy. A woman cries over the decision. Couples lament the process – though they still do it. This smacks of pushing the movement one step further. Misguided hedonism and and idolatry at its worst.

To be fair, why is this Ragsdale lady a surprise? She is also gay and doesn’t believe that lifestyle is unbiblical.

Or:
“When a woman has a special needs child but can’t afford one because she hasn’t the education necessary for a sustainable job, or access to health care, or day care, or adequate food, it is the abysmal priorities of our nation, the lack of social supports, the absence of justice that are the tragedies; the euthanasia is a blessing.
You so right the culture of death is a reality today in our society.

Have you ever seen a 3 D picture of an unborn baby? One of my Church members just showed me a 3D pic of her unborn grandchild. How anyone could look at that pic and not know that it is a human being and that abortion is wrong…well, I just cant understand it.
I mean, that pic showed a baby… as clear as day…hands, feet, nose, head, mouth, etc. God be merciful to the USA.
