I vote for “Crossroads Elmwood Conquerors Vine River Convention”
Mike Bird
That is interesting. I fear there may be a disputation between those who are embarrassed by the label “southern” and those who see being SBC as an intrinsic part of southern identity. How bout “Evangelical Baptist Convention” ?
Denny Burk
Mike, I like that one. If that turns out to be the new name, I think you should go down in the SBC annals as the one who named the world’s largest Protestant denomination!

The link to suggest names is not working for me. It says “We’re sorry. You have already taken this survey.” I think you just need to change the link to http://www.pray4sbc.com

Go it! Thank, Nathan!

I understand his argument but changing the name is not going to to change the decline in membership. My next question will be if we change the name to one that reflects the broadness of the ministry then will the convention leadership be open to non-nationals as leaders in the upper levels. Maybe they are already and I am just not aware.

Denny,
What are your thoughts? Do you think the name should be changed?
