Baby Twins Save Mother’s Life

This story is unbelievable, but it has appeared in several news outlets. So I’m passing it along to you.

According to the London Daily Mail, a pregnant woman was diagnosed with cervical cancer while carrying twins. After her doctors recommended an abortion so that her tumor might be removed, she declined treatment. At some point during her pregnancy, the twins’ kicking dislodged the tumor and caused it to be expelled from her body. The thankful mother has said this:

“I couldn’t believe it when the doctors told me that the babies had dislodged the tumour. I’d felt them kicking, but I didn’t realise just how important their kicking would turn out to be. I owe my life to my girls, and that’s why I could have never agreed with a termination. . . I was just in shock when the doctors told me what it was. When they said that the babies had literally kicked my tumour out, I just couldn’t believe it. If I hadn’t been pregnant with the twins, the cancer may not have been discovered until it was too late. I knew I could have an operation straight away and it would cure me of the cancer, but that would mean getting rid of my babies and I couldn’t do that. I had two lives inside me and I just couldn’t give up on them – especially after they had saved me like this.”

Unbelievable. Here’s the rest:

    That’s amazing. So cool.

When she said “If I hadn’t been pregnant with the twins, the cancer may not have been discovered until it was too late”,
it reminded me of one of my cousins who when playing baseball got hit in the head with a baseball (knocked him out I think). They ended up doing a scan on his head (I don’t know what it’s called) and on the other side of his head where he didn’t get hit they ended up finding a tumor that they then removed. If he never got hit it might have been too late when they finally discovered it. Crazy.

    Blessings,
