I was interested to read Christianity Today‘s coverage of a recent Biologos conference. The attendees included forty-one scholars and pastors who hold to (or are at least sympathetic to) theistic evolution. Knowing that they are in a minority among Protestants did not limit the gathering’s enthusiasm. Doug Wilson says that the central problem with pornography is its “didactic and catechetical” nature, which tends to teach men lies about women. Franklin Graham, Jr. scandalized the talking heads on “Morning Joe” earlier this week when he appeared on the program and suggested that President Obama might not be a “Christian” (see video below). I appreciate Rev. Graham and his bold commitment to Christ, but I think there was much in what he said that was muddled and inconsistent and that probably did very little to win folks over to his position. I for one wish that the conversation had gone differently. This past weekend, I spoke to college students attending the “Give Me an Answer” conference on the campus of Southern Seminary. My topic was “The Gospel and Homosexuality,” and after my talk the students were eager to find resources to help them think more biblically about this issue. I told them that I would provide a short list here, and what follows is the fulfillment of that promise. This list is by no means exhaustive, but it will get you started.
