My name is Denny Burk. I am Associate Professor of New Testament and Dean of Boyce College, the undergraduate arm of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
I am a Baptist Christian. My doctrinal commitments can be summarized in two Southern Baptist Statements of faith:
(1) The Abstract of Principles
(2) The Baptist Faith & Message 2000
I believe that God made man for His glory. God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him through His Son Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ was crucified, buried, and bodily raised to life. He is now seated at the right hand of the Father in glory. Because of Christ’s victory over death and because of His exaltation by the Father, He reigns forever over all.
Therefore, I agree with Abraham Kuyper who said: “There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry: ‘Mine!’”
