Pro-Choice Groups: “No Comment” on Killing Infants Born Alive

President George W. Bush signs the Born Alive Infants Protection Act of 2002 in Pittsburgh, Pa., Monday, Aug. 5, 2002. In April, President George W. Bush issued a directive instructing doctors to make every effort to save the lives of premature babies born after failed abortions. The new measure is a step towards enforcing the 2002 law known as the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act. Under this law, an infant that survives an abortion procedure is no longer a fetus, but a person entitled to emergency medical care and protection against child abuse and neglect. This law was aimed at preventing situations created by botched abortions, where the baby survives the…

    Obama’s Record on ‘Born-Alive Infants’

The video is self-explanatory and hardly needs any comment from me. But I would nevertheless add some caveats. 1. There is a dramatization of a baby being left to die. It’s not real, nor is it a gruesome depiction. But it is disturbing nonetheless. 2. There are some other personalities featured in this video, and I do not want readers to think that my posting this video means I endorse them. I’m thinking in particular of Alan Keyes. 3. I don’t know anything about the group that produced this video. The only reason I’m posting it is so that you can see and hear the testimony of Jill Stanek, who…

President Obama takes no position on protecting the lives of live-born children

In today’s press briefing, White House press secretary Jay Carney took a series of questions about the Kermit Gosnell case (see above). One reporter had the temerity to ask Carney some tough questions about President Obama’s repeated opposition to laws that would protect the lives of children who survive an attempted abortion. Carney’s answers were baffling. Carney repeated the President’s support for a woman’s right to choose. When the reporter pressed him on whether or not the President would support “common sense reform” to protect the lives of live-born children, Carney refused to give an answer. Is it really that hard simply to say, “The President supports protecting the lives…

A Bible Study on Protecting the Unborn

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday is a national observation and affirmation of life. This observance coincides with the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the ruling which made abortion legal on January 22, 1973. Sanctity of Human Life Sunday is usually observed on the Sunday that is closest to the January 22 anniversary. My church observed yesterday, and what follows is the lesson that I taught there in my Bible Study class.

Buckle-up Pro-lifers. They will say anything to silence us.

The left is apoplectic about the shutdown of death-dealing abortion mills in Texas. Nothing is more catastrophic to them than that babies would no longer be subject to legal execution. And there is hardly anything they won’t say or do to get the abortionists back to the important business of killing the unborn. For that reason, you can expect to hear some crazy, wild claims in days ahead. You are going to hear downright asinine allegations about pro-lifers and their “sinister” motivations. Here is a case in point. Jeff Greenfield claims in Politico that evangelical opposition to abortion was merely a pretext for racial discrimination: It turns out that abortion…

Senator Ben Sasse introduces legislation to protect infants who survive abortion

Senator Ben Sasse just delivered an impassioned statement to the United States Senate. In it, he introduced a piece of legislation and appealed to Senators to come to the floor of the Senate to pass an “Abortion Survivors Protection Act.” This is a direct response the vile remarks made by the Governor of Virginia over the last two days. Here is a rush transcript of Senator Sasse’s statement:

So you think Kermit Gosnell is a one-off?

I have noticed that many abortion advocates have been acting as if the atrocities of Kermit Gosnell are a one-off anomaly—as if there are no other late term abortionists in the United States who have to deal with infants born alive. Nothing could be further from the truth. Live Action has produced a couple undercover videos showing how routine both late-term abortions are. The videos also show that late-term abortionists everywhere have to deal with infants who survive abortions.
