This has added to the outrage, since this condition is easily reversible / repairable with surgery. But perhaps the outrage at this masks the reality that the vast majority of abortions are carried out for no defect / handicap at all. The woman simply does not wish to have a baby. If the true moral character of a nation is best shown in the way we treat our most vulnerable, then something very sad is said about our world today. Subsequent articles on the same news page state that the abortion was carried out because of a cleft lip / palate.
