    That’s a nifty way to visualize the national debt. Unfortunately, you don’t learn much looking at it other than the intended feeling of dread and fear about all that debt.

    Everyone knows that the debt is huge but most don’t know what policies built that debt or what are the short-term and long-term drivers of that debt. We’re great at making emotional arguments but not so great at figuring out how to solve problems. Part of that is knowing how those problems are created.

    The folks in Washington are figuring how to protect their sacred cows while putting all the hurt on people or things they don’t care much about. Shared sacrifice indeed.
