Thanks to Justin Taylor for alerting us to the video of a debate between Alister McGrath (theist) and Peter Atkins (atheist). Alister McGrath is Professor of Historical Theology at Oxford University, and Peter Atkins is Professor of Chemistry at Oxford University.

It’s taken me about 20 minutes to get through the accents, but this is indeed interesting.

I was a little bit disappointed with McGrath’s performance. I kept waiting for him to get going but he never really did.

I can’t believe Peter Atkins would say that there are no limits to science.
He also states that there no questions of consequence that begin with the word “why?”, but rather they should be asked with “how?”. That certainly was an interesting statement.
