Schwarzenegger Vows To Protect Homeschooling in California

In response to the outrageous appellate court decision issued earlier this week, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has vowed to protect homeschooling in California. I’m including this story in the links list of my previous post. But since his remarks are an extremely important development, I reproduce them here:

“Every California child deserves a quality education, and parents should have the right to decide what’s best for their children. . . Parents should not be penalized for acting in the best interests of their children’s education. . . This outrageous ruling must be overturned by the courts, and if the courts don’t protect parents’ rights then, as elected officials, we will.”

one minute he wants public schools to acknowledge gay is okay. the next minute he says kids can be homeschooled to protect from being taught gay is okay. okay. what dreamworld is he living in.
he should have vetoed the bill to acknowledge gay is okay in public school.

    Debbie,

in California? Are you kidding? He would have been out on his butt, and rightly so.

As much as you might want to have the world’s most moral presidents, governors and mayors, you have to remember that your first duty is to the people you govern. And in California, a far larger than normal chunk of that population is gay. So, he needs to respect that. And if you don’t like it, remember that no one is forcing you to live in CA.

Also, is this really what should be at the top of your hit list? I would think that more important issues like making sure your own family is grounded in the teachings of The Lord would be at the top of the list, not tolerance training in the most liberal state in the country.

    sheesh.

Haha, this could be fun! Let’s see…

    “Appeal All the Way”

    Or, “Class Action Hero”

    Perhaps, “Kindergarten Cop”…

Wait, I didn’t even change that last one…
