NCAA Bowl Championship Series

The BCS computers have cranked out a title game, and USC will not be playing for the championship (USC, the team that won one national championship a couple years ago but for some reason continue to be regarded as a dynasty).

Here is the full schedule for the upcoming NCAA bowl season. I am happy to see that LSU will be beating Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl, though I would have preferred to have seen them put a licking on the non-dynastic USC in the Rose Bowl. But I suppose I can’t blame USC for not wanting to get embarrassed on their home turf by the Tigers. 🙂

    Dial 911, MI was robbed!

    Amen, Denny!
I too have tired of the USC adulation. There’s no way MI was robbed. The SEC champion with only one loss deserves a shot at Ohio State. Nobody plays as tough a scheudle as teh SEC.

Amen, Ray Van Neste! And I’ll add one more thing. If USC had to play in the SEC every year, I doubt that their media-hyped pseudo-dynasty would ever have gotten off the ground.

As a former Michigan manager under Bo Schembechler, I think Michigan got the short end of th stick by voters…..

IF people are going to start talking about dynasties, how about the Oklahoma Sooner dynasty. They have as many championships as anyone else this decade to go along with most wins, and 2nd most BCS appearances(5) in the BCS era next to Florida St.

Regardless of who they’re playing or who is in the other bowl games, this is the year for my Buckeyes!

You can spin this thing any way you want. It was strictly about fresh versus familiar. In the end, Ohio State will play Florida on Jan. 8 in Glendale, Ariz., because people with votes want to see that game more than they want to see a rematch of Michigan-Ohio State. This was all about the line of thinking that says: “Give someone else a chance.”

But if the system were about giving everyone a chance, they wouldn’t call it a poll, they’d call it a donkey ride.”

And now for the best college football news all season…

    Don’t you agree Denny?

I agree with #10. And you can see my comments on the BCS on my blog, at

Yes, I agree. And Faimon, if you didn’t know, “Hoodlum” is Stephen Hood.

    Dr. Burk,

If LSU had the run of success that USC has had the last four seasons, you’d be talking about them as a dynasty. Do I sense jealousy? 🙂

Couldn’t agree with you more about USC, it really urks me to hear people say they’ve won the Championship 2 years in a row. Your pic tells the real truth!
