I’ve Been to the Mountaintop

We’ve got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn’t matter with me now. Because I’ve been to the mountaintop. And I don’t mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I’m not concerned about that now. I just want to do God’s will. And He’s allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I’ve looked over. And I’ve seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land. So I’m happy, tonight. I’m not worried about anything. I’m not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.

What I find hard to understand is that, as Justin Taylor has posted in the past, he had some very liberal theology and there is good evidence that he was promiscuous.

Was he born-again? What category do you put him in?

    A Cyrus?

    A Jehu?

    A Balaam perhaps?

They all showed zeal for the Lord’s will at times and accomplished God’s will but not sure they were all regenerate.

    Any thoughts?

Maybe he was a Christian man who was not perfect, but saved by Grace. I think that list would include myself as well. Maybe he was just like the men who were baptised at my church recently. Sinful in nature, but washed in the blood of the Lamb.

There is something that tells me that MLK was nothing special. He saw hate and wrong in the world and spoke out against it. He saw injustice and biggotry and marched against it. He had a calling to serve and was slain doing what God had ordained. I am thankful for that.
