God help us if we don’t learn from Gosnell’s crimes
Kermit Gosnell was convicted yesterday of three charges of first degree murder. He killed countless other live-born infants, but prosecutors could only prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he murdered these three. Some were killed after being delivered alive into toilets. Others had their necks “snipped” with scissors after clinic workers had played with them. The crimes were so heinous and the conditions so gruesome that it’s staggering to imagine that people have been witnessing and participating in this horror for decades.

Gosnell is found guilty of first degree murder
Kermit Gosnell has been found guilty of first degree murder in three of the four charges against him. For Gosnell, this will mean either a sentence of life in prison or the death penalty. The Washington Post reports: Abortion provider Kermit Gosnell was convicted Monday of three counts of first-degree murder for severing the spinal cords of infants born during abortions at his West Philadelphia clinic.

So you think Kermit Gosnell is a one-off?
I have noticed that many abortion advocates have been acting as if the atrocities of Kermit Gosnell are a one-off anomaly—as if there are no other late term abortionists in the United States who have to deal with infants born alive. Nothing could be further from the truth. Live Action has produced a couple undercover videos showing how routine both late-term abortions are. The videos also show that late-term abortionists everywhere have to deal with infants who survive abortions.

NY Times Inaccurately Reports on the Gosnell Trial
The New York Times has an astonishingly inaccurate report on the Kermit Gosnell trial. The inaccuracy begins right up front in the lede: A Pennsylvania judge on Tuesday threw out three of seven murder charges against a Philadelphia doctor charged with killing viable fetuses while performing abortions. In spite of this report, Kermit Gosnell is emphatically not on trial for “killing viable fetuses while performing abortions.” Unfortunately, it’s actually legal in the United States under Roe v. Wade to kill viable fetuses during an abortion. That is not why Kermit Gosnell is on trial.

Judge drops 3 of the 8 murder charges against Gosnell
From NBC Philadelphia: It took the prosecution five weeks to present their case against West Philly abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell and it took defense attorney Jack McMahon a couple of hours to knock a big hole through a critical part of their argument. Three first-degree murder charges were dropped against Gosnell after McMahon argued that “there is not one piece…of objective, scientific evidence that anyone was born alive” at Gosnell’s clinic.

Sandy Hook and Gosnell provoke questions about rights
In an article for PhillyBurbs.com, reporter J. D. Mullane describes what he saw at the Gosnell trial. He witnessed some of the most grisly testimony imaginable, and yet he also saw an empty press pool area. The court had set aside about 40 seats for reporters. Still, it stayed virtually empty. Mullane ponders why hardly any reporters showed up to cover the trial. I asked one of the court staff why so few are interested. “If you’re pro-choice, do you really want anybody to know about this,” he said, motioning to the filthy medical equipment set up in the courtroom. It’s a good point. As saturation coverage of the Sandy…

Anderson Cooper’s Coverage of Gosnell Atrocities
Anderson Cooper did a substantive report and analysis of Dr. Kermit Gosnell’s trial for murder. I’m hoping this is the first of many stories that we see on television. This report is good, but the broadcast networks need to cover this as well. Part one is above, and part two is below.

Fifteen-year old girl helped kill live-babies in Gosnell’s abortion clinic
There is more grisly testimony emerging from the Gosnell trial (see previous post). Business Insider reports: Former clinic worker Ashley Baldwin, who’s now 22, testified that she helped Gosnell perform abortions and saw five aborted babies moving and breathing, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. One baby even screamed, Baldwin said.

Why the media don’t want you to see the horror of Gosnell’s crimes
Last January, I posted the above documentary about Dr. Kermit Gosnell and his murderous late-term abortion clinic. My hope then was that the video might go viral and attract widespread public attention. My thought was that if we could just put this story before as many people’s eyes as possible, they might reconsider their indifference about the horror that unfolds every day in abortion clinics around the country. I’m not sure that the documentary has yet had that impact.
